Boy,12, Arrested After He Attacked Grandmother, Cut Her To Pieces After She Denied Him Airtime Money
Sad news has emerged from Nyahururu after a 12-year-old boy killed his elderly grandmother after she denied him money for airtime.
As per reports from the Nyahururu area in Nakuru County, the 12-year-old boy who went to stay with her grandmother pounced on her and ended her life in a fit of rage.
Confirming the incident were Nyahururu and county police commissioner Gacheri Jackline, who revealed to members of the media that the teenager is currently being detained by the police over a connection to the death of 61-year-old Lucy Muthoni.
The unfortunate incident was confirmed after Lucy Muthoni went missing a few days after she was arrested coming from Nyahururu market, where she does her business. The rather happy Lucy had planned to connect her house with tap water and had set some money aside.
Lucy went missing soon after, which made her neighbours start frantically searching for her in hopes of finding her alive.
Six days into the search, Lucy's badly mutilated body was found dumped on a river bank, and she had started decomposing. Her killer had chopped her into pieces and packed her in a gunny bag before he disposed of it in the River Gathara.
Investigations started soon after, and the police were able to track Lucy's phone back to her homestead. According to police reports, the phone and the murder weapon, which was a bloodied axe, were found dumped at a pit latrine back in her homestead.
Her 12-year-old grandson, who was the last person to be seen with her, was immediately arrested after neighbours claimed that on the night of the disappearance he had been angry and was heard shouting at her grandmother after she refused to give him money for airtime, yet she had a lot of cash for her projects.
